Hazelwood is very kid-friendly, with a portion of the city’s website dedicated solely to kids’ activities and safe venues for kids.
The City of Hazelwood was originally incorporated as the Village of Hazelwood in 1949. However, there is evidence of Indian settlements going as far back as 4000 B.C. French explorers were the first Europeans to venture into the area, though American settlers truly made the area their home soon after the founding of our nation.
Nestled along one of the main transport veins of St. Louis County, Hazelwood provides quick access to the airport and St. Louis City via Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 270.
Hazelwood is not just for families. A mix of affordable homes in a number of styles means that there is something for everyone. Whether single, raising a family, or celebrating your golden years, you’ll find a home in Hazelwood.
Family entertainment is the order of the day in Hazelwood. The town has a miniature golf course, an iMax theatre, an ice-skating rink, and several restaurants. (Steak lovers take note!)
Hazelwood is covered by three school districts: Hazelwood, Ferguson-Florissant, and Pattonville.
